On Thursday, Microsoft confirmed during its official Windows 11 launch that support for Android apps will be brought to operating systems later in 2021. Users may explore and download Android apps from the Microsoft Store, and agreements with Amazon and Intel make the functionality possible.

Microsoft found that on Windows 11, Android Apps will work with Intel Bridge Technology to support additional Windows apps and experiences. The new technology uses the latest Intel CPUs and plays an important role in how Microsoft wishes to increase the Microsoft store offerings.

One of the apps featured during the demonstration was TikTok, one of the world's most popular social media video apps. Microsoft says Windows 11 enables users to scroll Tik Tok, see videos and even share videos without having to open their phones.

The exact number of applications that Intel Bridge technology can support allows them to be used on Windows 11 or whether it is a universal tech that can pull and push applications to match the layout as necessary.

However, Microsoft did not specify a final release date for now, merely claiming that it will arrive later this year—probably around the same time Windows 11's stable release was launched.
