Sonic Prime, a Netflix original series, has gotten its first look.

There has been no word on the upcoming animated Sonic the Hedgehog program that will air on Netflix, since the leaked from December. The initial tweet went up on December 10, leading some to think that an announcement would be made later that night at The Game Awards. However, the tweet was taken down, and neither Netflix nor Sega responded. Netflix, on the other hand, eventually pulled the capsule's cover off today. Sonic Prime will premiere on Netflix in 2022, and it is being developed by the Ben 10 developers.

The leak comes from Patrick Horan through ArtStation and includes a number of concept art works. In other words, none of it gives any indication of how the program will appear in the end, but it may give some insight into the art direction.

The images have now been removed, as one might assume, but not before the Internet received notice. Unfortunately, analyzing the visuals without context is tricky, but they appear to suggest that the program will be set in some sort of multiverse. To put it another way, it appears that the program will revolve around time travel and diverse interpretations of characters such as Sonic, Tails, Amy, and, of course, Dr. Eggman.

It's reasonable to believe that today's tweet isn't another leak because it hasn't been taken down. “Yes, it's true!” said the Netflix Twitter account. Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA's iconic video game mascot, will appear in a new animated series..” The production is being produced by the studios Wild Brain and Man of Action, according to Netflix.

Man of Action Entertainment and Wild Brain have teamed up to bring us Sonic Prime. Man of Action is the studio behind the iconic Ben 10 cartoon series, which is still going strong. Wild Brain has created a few Netflix programs, the most recent of which was Carmen Sandiego. Both studios have a track record of producing good performances, so it's reasonable to expect that Sonic Prime will do well.
