Deathloop Gameplay Trailer Shows off Amazing Combat in PS5 .

During Sony's State of Play event today, Arkane showed out some brand new video for their next game, Deathloop. The Deathloop trailer (below) shows new aspects several of the game's, including how vital the information, weapons, and skills you gain in each loop will be to Cole's overall success.

The above Deathloop Gameplay trailer also highlights the intriguing interplay between Cole and adversary Julianna, who converse over the radio for the majority of the trailer. Their relationship is intriguing, coming out as significantly more pleasant than earlier Deathloop videos.

The Deathloop gameplay tutorial begins with Colt, Deathloop's protagonist, hunting the Visionary, Aleksis Dorsey, also known as "The Wolf." In the trailer, Colt learns that Aleksis is about to give a speech during a masquerade, so he resolves to exploit his current loop to figure out who Aleksis is and assassinate him. As a result, in addition to Deathloop's predominantly run-and-gun gameplay, the guide highlights various ways players can engage the game's objectives covertly.

The Deathloop Gameplay trailer also shows certain mechanics that players can use during their runs. The Reprisal ability, in particular, prevents players from having to restart their loop when Colt dies. Instead, players can rewind to a checkpoint created right before the confrontation in which they died, but only twice in a row. After resurrecting, players can locate Colt's body in the exact location where he died and absorb something called "Residium" from it. With enough Residium, players can put their newly acquired weapons and skills into new loops.

Audiences also learn a little more about Colt's relationship with Juliana, the Visionary who actively pursues him. Julianna can be controlled by a second player, but if no one is available, she is played by an AI. When she comes and begins her quest for Colt, a distinct alert will ring. Those in command of Colt should be on the lookout for this signal, as Julianna has the ability to kill them and force them to resume the loop. The exchanges between her and Colt in this video provide credence to the concept that she and Colt had a link prior to the events of the game, and whatever happened between them is what caused Colt's loop.

Though if you're looking for more ,Deathloop is set to be released on September 14, giving fans a little more than two months until the game exposes what's going on. However, it appears like Bethesda and Arkane have showed off everything fans need to know about Deathloop's gameplay at this moment. While the two companies may opt to release one final trailer before the game's release, it's unlikely that it will show anything new or be free of spoilers. 

Deathloop will be released on September 14, 2021 for the PS5 and PC.
