A player trying to catch a valuable seasonal bug in Animal Crossing: New Horizons uploaded unlucky footage in which one of their villagers chases the insect away, thwarting its capture. The cozy sandbox game has no shortage of intriguing interactions given by Animal Crossing's inquisitive villager AI, and while annoyance from villagers ruining player's creature catches isn't uncommon, it doesn't make the accidents any less unappealing.

New Horizons is already in its second year after its first release. During that time, players meticulously recorded the game's problems in online wikis and personal Critterpedias. The goliath beetle is a rare bug that only emerges on trees the nights throughout the summer.
