Legendary's Nintendo 64 classic will be the 11th N64 game to be released via the expansion pack service.

This week, the iconic Remarkable game Banjo-Kazooie will be available on Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo of America confirmed in a tweet that the 1998 popular classic will be added to the service's Expansion Pack tier on January 20. Since its introduction in October, it's the second new N64 title to be added to the Expansion Pack category.

It will follow Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64, which was released in December as part of the Switch Online Expansion Pack service.

Banjo-Kazooie was originally revealed for Switch Online in December by Nintendo.

"It's a pleasure to be bringing the bear and bird onto Nintendo's latest console, enabling another modern opportunity (with Xbox Game Pass and Rare Replay) to savor its numerous trinkets and googly eyes," Banjo-Kazooie's original developer Rare stated in a statement at the time.

The following is the complete list of Nintendo 64 games that will be accessible on Switch Online whenever it is included in the service:

  • Banjo-Kazooie
  • Dr. Mario 64
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Mario Tennis
  • Paper Mario
  • Sin & Punishment
  • Star Fox 64
  • Super Mario 64
  • WinBack
  • Yoshi’s Story

Pokémon Snap, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Mario Golf, and F-Zero X will all be offered to the service at some time, according to Nintendo.

If a recent datamine of the platform is to be believed, the Switch's N64 library will be expanded by over 20 games in the future.

According to Twitter user MondoMega, who calculated the total number of games planned for the service using the database IDs of the launch games, at least 38 are planned.

That's 17 more N64 games than were released for the Virtual Console services on the Wii and Wii U.

Banjo-Kazooie will be available on Thursday for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack users, who previously received N64 and Sega Genesis games through the service. Since the addition of Paper Mario in December, it appears like Nintendo wants to add around one N64 game every month, which isn't exactly a blazing pace of release but is a welcome difference from the NES and SNES deep cuts that used to appear every few months. Hopefully, Nintendo will be able to ensure that the emulation works as well as it did with some of the earliest N64 titles.
