The PC release of the Lost Ark has been a highly successful. Most Lost Ark players are aware of this, as the MMO ARPG's servers are rapidly filling up, resulting in long wait times and frequent maintenance. While Amazon and the Lost Ark community are still dealing with technical challenges, they are also in a position worth celebrating. With that in mind, Amazon has revealed some of Lost Ark's achievements, including its popularity on Twitch and its launch on Steam.

At starting with, Lost Ark performed an unbelievable feat on Steam. On the PC gaming platform, the game had over 1.325 million concurrent players. Lost Ark is now the second-most popular Steam game of all time, surpassing both Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Only PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, currently known as PUBG: Battlegrounds, ranks higher on the leaderboard than Lost Ark, with 3.25 million concurrent players during its launch window. Lost Ark may never reach that level, but being second best to it is something to be proud of.

Lost Ark was also released at a period when MMOs were becoming a very popular genre among Twitch streamers. It's no surprise, then, that Lost Ark was the most popular game to watch on Twitch when it first came out. At that time, Amazon claims that Lost Ark had a peak of 1.2 million concurrent spectators, with over 112,000 streams displaying the game. During the launch, popular Twitch streamer Asmongold reached a peak of 427,880 viewers, despite not actually playing the game. Even if the figures aren't world records, they're nonetheless outstanding.

Finally, Amazon revealed some of their internal numbers for the launch of Raiders of the Lost Ark. As of February 14, the MMO had 4.7 million new registered players in the western region alone. North America accounts for 55% of the players, while Europe accounts for 45%. That's not even taking into account Lost Ark's enduring popularity in the east.

It's a good start for a free-to-play game, but Lost Ark had previously proven its worth by selling expensive Founder's Packs before launch. Lost Ark may have hit 1.3 million concurrent users on Steam after going free-to-play, but it had previously reached 532,000 prior to that. This is a large quantity of premium Founder's Packs sold.

Big statistics for an MMO's debut are absolutely critical for the game's long-term success. It is, however, only the first stage in a lengthy process. Lost Ark now has to show that it can keep gamers interested, which is difficult in today's fast-paced gaming world. For the time being, Amazon and Smilegate can rejoice, but then it's back to work.

The PC version of the Lost Ark is now available.
