The New York Game Awards 2022 winners have been revealed. The 11th annual New York Game Awards took place over the weekend, with a virtual ceremony honoring the year's best games, actors, journalists, and esports players. Psychonauts 2 was selected Best Game of the Year and received the Statue of Liberty Award for Best World, making it one of the night's great victors.
Sable, from Shedworks, won two awards on the night, one for Best Music and the other for Best Indie Game, after being nominated alongside Death's Door, Genesis Noir, and others. Maggie Robertson was honored for her role as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village at the event, which also honored Capcom's Resident Evil franchise.
The New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) is a well-known group created in 2011 by Harold Goldberg of the Washington Post with the goal of bringing the best of journalism to the video game business while pushing for multiculturalism and aiding the less fortunate. In advocating for a larger message in gaming, Goldberg adds, "We want to help, we need to give back, and we're really serious about that purpose."
