Xi tells Biden that the war in Ukraine must stop as soon as possible

According to Chinese official media, Chinese President Xi Jinping told his US rival Joe Biden on Friday that the war in Ukraine must finish as soon as possible.

"The primary priority today is to continue discussion and negotiations, avoid civilian losses, prevent a humanitarian disaster, cease fighting, and terminate the war as soon as possible," Xi said in a video conversation with Biden.

All parties should support the Russia-Ukraine discussion and negotiations, while the US and NATO should also hold talks with Russia to settle the "crux" of the Ukraine problem and address both Russia's and Ukraine's security concerns, according to Xi.
