French President Emmanuel Macron believes his country should be one of Ukraine's security guarantors once the war with Russia is over.

Emmanuel Macron told Le Parisien that Ukraine will be able to negotiate a ceasefire "at some time." Then there will be a need to establish peace, and France is prepared to be one of Ukraine's security guarantors.

"This cannot be done without a guarantor," Macron added. "France has been called to be one of these guarantors."

Despite the futility of these negotiations, France's President is willing to keep calling Vladimir Putin. According to Macron, this keeps Paris' standing as a negotiator.

Furthermore, he keeps a careful eye on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, particularly in Mariupol.

Previously, the Kremlin refused to allow France, Greece, and Turkey to take out a rescue mission in Mariupol. Macron is currently working with the Red Cross to establish a humanitarian corridor.
