Spider-Man PC has a strong start, but it has fewer peak players than God of War

PlayStation PC game is Marvel's Spider-Man, which appears to have attracted fewer peak players than God of War's PC release.

The second-most-played PlayStation PC game is Marvel's Spider-Man, which appears to have attracted fewer peak players than God of War's PC release.

According to SteamDB, the game had 64,893 players at the time of writing, just under 10,000 fewer than God of War. The peak player count for Horizon Zero Dawn, the first significant PlayStation game to make the switch, was 56,557.

Marvel's Spider-Man for the PC received the following praise in our review: "This is an excellent PC port with Steam Deck support that elevates to it to a must-own for anyone with Valve's portable. While Sony might never release a PlayStation Vita 2, if it continues to support the Steam Deck as more PlayStation exclusives move to PC, it'll soon resemble the next-generation Sony handheld that many of us have long desired.

On August 12, 2022, Nixxes, which Sony acquired last year, will release the remastered version of Spider-Man for PC.

Head of Franchise Strategy & Studio Relations at Insomniac Games Ryan Schneider added the following in a blog post on the PlayStation website: "We're grateful to our PlayStation Studios partner studio Nixxes Software for fully optimizing Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC.

"Nixxes' collaborative spirit and commitment to quality has delighted our production team." When we interact with Nixxes, we recognize a lot of ourselves.

"I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel's Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring," said Jurjen Katsman, founder and senior director of development at Nixxes, of the project.
