Overwatch 2 has introduced a new hero Kiriko

Blizzard has announced the new Overwatch 2 hero Kiriko as well as the game's battle pass feature.

Overwatch 2, as previously announced, will enter early access on October 4 as a free-to-play title. The open beta for the free-to-play game begins the following month October.

It will receive seasonal upgrades every nine weeks, as well as a battle pass with new content such as characters, game types, maps, and cosmetics. Overwatch 2 Makes Major Changes to New Heroes.

If a season includes a new hero, they will become available right away on the premium battle pass track and at Tier 55 for everyone else on the free battle pass track, Blizzard said on Thursday.

Competitive modes won't instantly feature new heroes. In order to give Blizzard time to optimize the performance of the character and players on the free battle pass track some time to earn them, the new support hero Kiriko will make her competitive debut two weeks after Season 1 debuts.

The premium battle pass will cost 1,000 Overwatch Coins, which is equal to $10, and can be bought in one go or accrued over time by successfully completing weekly challenges.

The cyberpunk-themed Season 1 battle pass will include the Mythic Genji Skin and include the following unlocks free goodies in 20 tiers dispersed throughout the 80+ total tiers:

  • Newest support hero, Kiriko
  • 2 Epic Skins
  • 1 Weapon Charm
  • 2 Souvenirs
  • 1 Highlight Intro
  • 14 additional items (emotes, victory poses, name cards, sprays, player icons, etc.)
  • Prestige Tier Titles (8 earnable titles available only after completing the entire pass)

The Founder's Pack, which can be obtained by logging into Overwatch before to Season 2, will include Kiriko for all original Overwatch owners.
