The producer of Resident Evil 4 has no plans to remake Code: Veronica. The chainsaw man has become even more terrifying thanks to Resident Evil 4 Remake. There are currently "no plans" for a Code Veronica remake, according to the Resident Evil producer.

A Capcom producer has stated that the company currently has no plans to remake the cult classic Resident Evil instalment Code: Veronica.

Speaking to the website Noisy Pixel, series producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi stated that there were no concrete plans to develop a Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, but did not completely rule out the possibility, stating that if the "opportunity comes, maybe."

In accordance with canon, Code Veronica, which was released in 2000 for the Dreamcast (and later on other platforms), occurs between Resident Evil 2 and 3. Therefore, it has technically gone unnoticed in terms of Capcom's ongoing efforts to remake the series.

Claire Redfield and her brother Chris Redfield are the game's protagonists as they struggle to survive a zombie outbreak on a barren prison island in Antarctica. Code Veronica allegedly started out as a full mainline sequel to Resident Evil 2 but was later rebranded as a spin-off due to a Sony exclusivity agreement. Before Resident Evil 4 took the series in a more action-oriented direction, Veronica was theoretically the last Resident Evil game to exclusively focus on survival horror.

At Capcom's showcase, information about a playable Resident Evil Village Gold Edition demo was shared along with a brand-new Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer.

The game was updated and released as Code: Veronica X for the PS2 (2001), GameCube (2003, 2011), Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Furthermore, the PlayStation VR2's Resident Evil Village VR mode enables fans to experience the main campaign of Village in virtual reality. See here for more details.

In the final chapter of the Winters family's story, which started with the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the new story charts Rose's personal development. The Mercenaries mode in The Winters' Expansion also has a playable Lady Dimitrescu.

The Resident Evil RE: Verse online multiplayer game, which allows players to compete as characters from the Resident Evil series, was also covered in today's (October 21) showcase. It will formally start operating on Friday (October 28).

The Resident Evil 4 remake, which was announced earlier this year, will arrive on March 24, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PC via Steam. Additionally, the game will support PlayStation VR 2.

Hands-on reviews of the Resident Evil 4 remake were released by on Friday. The reviewer stated that the remake "clearly signals that Capcom knows there are some things it shouldn't change for the sake of it, and when it's important to be faithful. And as a result, we are now much more hopeful about this remake than we were before we played it.
