Pokemon GO players want to complete Research Tasks, both large and small, through furthermore trying to catch as many Pokemon as possible. Field Research Tasks are probably for you if you want a small challenge in Pokemon GO. Plus, if you complete enough tasks, you'll receive a fantastic reward for achieving a Field Research breakthrough!

What is Pokemon GO Field Research?

A Field Research Task is a tiny task that Pokemon GO players can complete in order to receive a reward.

Players can receive a variety of different Field Research Tasks, each of which calls for them to take a different action in-game. These tasks, which can involve anything from catching Pokemon to engaging in raid combat, all offer a small reward when finished.

The better the reward, the more challenging the field research task!

By clicking the binoculars icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, you can see your current field research tasks.

How to Get Tasks for Field Research.

In Pokemon GO, you must reach a PokeStop or Gym and spin it in order to receive a Field Research Task.

• Place a PokeStop or Gym and approach it.
• To access the Photo Disc, go to the PokeStop or Gym.
• If it is a Gym, you must also press the Photo Disc icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
• To spin the photo disc, swipe left or right.
• You will be rewarded with XP, items, and a new Field Research Task (if you have space to take on another Task).

Each PokeStop or Gym can only give you one Field Research Task per day, and you can only hold a maximum of three of them at once (these facilities reset at midnight local time). There is no restriction on how many you can finish each day, though.

Every day at 12 a.m., players will receive a random Field Research Task.

Field Research Task Types.

In Pokemon GO, there are five different types of Field Research Tasks. The tab in the bottom right corner of the Task indicates the type of Field Research.

1. Field research is a standard task.

• Spinning a PokeStop or Gym yields this item.
• There is no colored tab.

2. Extra Field Research Task.

• Given to every Pokemon Trainer at 12 a.m. every day if they have fewer than three Field Research Tasks.
• The green tab.

3. Task for Event Field Research.

• Acquired by spinning a PokeStop or gym during a game event.
• Orange Tab

4. Task for Sponsored Field Research.

• Obtained by going to a location that is sponsored.
• Purple tab

5. Pokemon GO Fest 2022: Ultra Incursion Field Research

• Obtained by spinning a PokeStop during the GO Fest Finale event in 2022.
• Tabs in dark purple, yellow, red, or lime green.

How to Get Rid of Field Research Tasks

To delete Field Research Tasks that you don't want to complete, click the trash can icon in the top right corner of the Task.

• To view your Field Research, click the binoculars icon in the bottom right corner.
• Locate the Field Research Task that you want to remove.
• In the top right corner of that Field Research Task, click the trash can icon.
• Click the OK button.

Field Research Stamps: What Are They?

You receive a Field Research Stamp the first time you complete a Field Research Task each day.

You get a Field Research Breakthrough after collecting 7 Field Research Stamps. This rewards you with a number of items as well as a Pokemon encounter.

Every month, the reward Pokemon from a Field Research Breakthrough changes. This information is available on the Pokemon GO website.

You will receive the following rewards for achieving a Field Research Breakthrough:

• 2000 Stardust
• 3000 XP
• A Pokemon Encounter (the Research Breakthrough Pokemon changes every month)
• A Mystery Item – one of the following:
• 20 Poke Balls
• 5 Ultra Balls
• 5 Pinap Berries
• 3 Rare Candy
• 1 Sinnoh Stone
• 1 Unova Stone
