PlayStation Stars Hit Play/1994 task usually requires a large amount of storage space

Players are informed that a sizable amount of hard drive space is needed to complete Hit Play/1994, one of the PlayStation Stars Challenges.

One of the PlayStation Stars digital rewards has been found to require a significant amount of storage space to unlock, which may be problematic for PS5 Digital Edition owners. Sony console owners have so far shown a fair amount of interest in the PlayStation Stars loyalty program, which was introduced in July and went live on October 5. It offers them the chance to earn entertaining and attractive rewards.

Microsoft Rewards and PlayStation Stars are excellent comparisons because both offer active members rewards for their participation. Through Sony's program, players can complete a variety of quests to gain access to a variety of rewards, including points that can be used to buy items from the PlayStation store or add money to their PSN wallet. Digital collectibles that can be displayed as trophies on a virtual shelf are another feature that players can unlock.

The Sony Chord Machine, a replica of a real portable boombox released by Sony in 1982, is one of the collectibles that players can acquire. To obtain the machine, users must first complete the PlayStation Stars Hit Play/1994 challenge, which requires them to solve six riddles and then launch the games that correspond to the answers. However, downloading and installing the six titles will take up approximately 297 gigabytes of space on the PS5.

Because all of these games are included with a PlayStation Plus Extra subscription, many people may already have a couple of them installed on their hard drives. However, given that the PS5 only has about 667 GB of actual usable space, many of that will most likely be taken up by other titles. With the exception of those who own physical copies of the games, completing the Hit Play/1994 challenge may necessitate a significant amount of downloading, installing, and then uninstalling, which may be doubly difficult for those with internet data caps.

Fortunately, as of this writing, gamers have 33 days to complete the Hit Play/1994 challenge, which means Sony gave users well over a month to earn the Sony Chord Machine collectible. Accessing the PlayStation Stars challenges requires signing in via the PlayStation app, and Sony has chosen not to provide a desktop option. It is critical to begin the challenge through the PS app before launching any of the games, or it will not count towards completion.

So far, the PlayStation Stars program has been successful in attracting gamers to the PS app and encouraging them to interact with the community. The variety of rewards available, which includes entire games such as Cult of the Lamb and It Takes Two, should be varied and interesting enough to keep players coming back.
