Claim the brand-new Xbox Free Games with Gold for January 2023 now

Microsoft adds new games to its list of Xbox free Games with Gold, giving subscribers a fresh title to download in January 2023.

Autonauts is currently available for free to claim from now until February 15 for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to add to their library. The staggered releases for Microsoft's monthly free games have not changed despite the company's significant changes to the Xbox free Games with Gold program over the past year.

Xbox gamers receive free games every month that they can play indefinitely as long as they have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. At the start of each month, one of the free games is distributed, and in the middle of the month, another one is made available. Each time, the two no-cost games are offered for about a month. The Xbox free Games with Gold service used to offer two Xbox 360 games each month, but those games have since been phased out; as a result, customers are now only entitled to two free Xbox One games with each update.

Currently, the Xbox free Games with Gold titles are the aforementioned Autonauts (available until February 15) and Iris Fall (available until January 31). A brief puzzle game called Iris Fall received unfavorable reviews when it was first released. In contrast, Autonauts is a very different game that could take players dozens of hours to finish.

The average amount of time needed to beat Autonauts is reportedly 96 hours, according to How Long to Beat. Completionists who want to complete the game completely should plan on investing up to 173 hours. Autonauts appears to be providing Xbox Live Gold subscribers with excellent value for their money, despite the fact that it may not have much name recognition. The game received mostly positive reviews when it was first released.

Even though Autonauts seems like a good choice for the Xbox free Games with Gold program, many people are unhappy with Microsoft's support for the initiative. Microsoft has largely ignored its Xbox free Games with Gold program in recent years in favor of concentrating its efforts on Xbox Game Pass. It's important to note that those who have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can also take advantage of these free games because the top tier of that particular service includes all the advantages of Xbox Live Gold.

There have been rumors that Xbox Live Gold will be phased out at some point, and it appears that Microsoft is taking that step. Xbox Live Gold members can still get their free games each month for the time being, though.
