Unknown Sumeru Tunnel Found by Genshin Impact Player, Could Lead to Natlan

Genshin Impact Player Discovers Mysterious Sumeru Tunnel, Which Could Lead to Natlan

A Genshin Impact player shared an intriguing screenshot of a tunnel that might connect to one of the upcoming major regions.

One of Teyvat's upcoming major regions may be reached through a mysterious tunnel that a Genshin Impact fan has discovered. Only four of the game's seven major nations—Sumeru being the most recent addition—can currently be explored. A new Sumeru desert has been added to the country's northern region as part of the ongoing update 3.4.

Since its inclusion in Genshin Impact 3.0, Sumeru has grown in popularity among fans as it significantly improved the exploration experience. Additionally, it debuted the eagerly anticipated Dendro component, which had a profound effect on the game's character meta.

A new tunnel can be found in the Sands of Three Canals subregion of the brand-new Sumeru desert expansion, according to an intriguing screenshot shared by Reddit user StupidPencil. Travelers can see a brand-new tunnel with a very bright light at its end at the end of a sizable cave. Paimon will show up on the screen to force them to turn around if they attempt to enter the tunnel. Many fans speculate that this tunnel might lead to Natlan, a brand-new important area in Genshin Impact and the residence of the Pyro Archon Murata. The area appears to be based on pre-Columbian America, with additional influences from Spanish culture, according to earlier leaks.

The Pyro nation, the final region to be mentioned in the game's plot, is currently shrouded in mystery and little is known about it. Additionally, Natlan is the only region in the game without any NPCs, and many fans anticipate it to be full of different volcanoes to fit its symbolic Pyro element. Natlan won't likely be available to players for a very long time, as recent leaks indicated that the Hydro nation Fontaine will be the next significant area to be added to the game.

At least 10 new characters that will appear in Fontaine have already had their models leaked over the past few weeks, including the Hydro Archon Focalors, whose design may have been influenced by Seele, a well-liked character from Honkai Impact 3rd. Players can anticipate that Fontaine will be situated west of the Liyue nation, though HoYoverse has not yet confirmed its precise location.

Recently, other leakers claimed that Mondstadt might experience growth prior to Fontaine's formal arrival. Fans believe that the new expansion will include Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, as the current Mondstadt appears to cover only about 60% of the entire region.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
