With only a few months until the release of Diablo 4, Microsoft unveiled a new Xbox Series X bundle designed specifically for Blizzard's upcoming action RPG. For players who want to play Diablo 4 on a new console and play Sanctuary, a console, as well as some bonus in-game items, will be included in the bundle.
Two beta testing sessions for Diablo 4 have recently taken place, with the most recent taking place from March 24 through 27, and being open to all platforms. Players were eventually able to log in as servers stabilized, despite the Diablo 4 open beta initially being plagued by long queues and server problems. Although Blizzard requested feedback during the open beta, it is unknown what feedback will be taken into account prior to the release of Diablo 4. When the game is released, players who want to try out Diablo 4 on a new Microsoft system will have access to a new console bundle.
On June 6, Diablo 4 and the Xbox Series X bundle will both be available for $559.99 USD. The Xbox storefront is currently accepting pre-orders for the console bundle. This is in line with some bundle information that surfaced on social media a few days ago. A 1 TB Xbox Series X console, a wireless Xbox controller, and a game code for Diablo 4's standard edition are all included in the package.
Players who pre-order Diablo 4 will also receive the Light-Bearer horse mount and Caparison of Faith mount armor. Along with the bundle, some special bonuses for other Blizzard games will be made readily available upon pre-order. These rewards include the Inarius Murloc pet for Diablo 3, new cosmetic wing sets for Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal, and the Amalgam of Rage mount for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. Players must link their Xbox and Battle.net accounts in order to use any of these items, which all require a Battle.net account.
The announcement of the Diablo 4 Xbox Series X bundle coincides with Microsoft's efforts to complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, despite strong opposition from Sony and close examination from regulatory bodies around the world. Although the purchase of Activision Blizzard is essentially finalized, Microsoft could not have chosen a better time to release the Diablo 4 bundle. When the deal will actually close cannot be predicted in advance.
Diablo 4 launches on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
