This was the case, as redditor Mr-Pirate-Fox noted out in a video showing the fog acting up in their game. The video depicts a fogged-over Night City, with the neon skyline barely visible through the fog. However, as soon as the player takes a few steps ahead, the fog dissipates and the skyline becomes visible. When they take a few steps back, it returns to its previous position.

The fog pops in and out as the player cycles towards and away from it, so we know this isn't a case of sluggish texture popping. The game's fog mechanism looks to have been screwed up by the newest update.

More problems impacting both the plot and side missions have been addressed, according to the Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.23 notes, and basic gameplay difficulties have been fixed, such as an incident when dead NPCs would become trapped in their automobile when players tried to take it. CDPR also claims to have corrected a few visual bugs in Cyberpunk 2077, including Johnny Silverhand's ghostly look in some quests, clipping difficulties in NPC clothes, and the appearance of rocks in the Badlands. The developer also addressed stability and performance, including memory optimizations and management, as well as more remedies for problems caused by animations, UI, scene, physics, and gameplay systems.

Before a month and a half had passed, the first 1.2 patch was released. Now it is available for download on PC, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. It has resolved a number of quest-related difficulties that were preventing the plot from moving further. Memory optimizations and memory management enhancements, according to the developer, will reduce the likelihood of game crashes.

The 1.23 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 resolved a lot of bugs but damaged several current functionality.

Patch 1.23 also fixes PC and Xbox-specific problems, such as a bug on the PC version that prevents players from upgrading V when playing in 1280x720 resolution. On Xbox, the studio also corrected an issue where certain actions might cause the game to become sluggish, as well as an issue where the game's pause would open on its own if the Xbox guide and pause menu were both closed quickly.

The majority of the issues resolved were minor annoyances rather than game-breaking bugs, but anything that serves to increase the game's immersion is a bonus. Bugs, particularly in open-world games, knock players out of the world's realism, highlighting the fact that everything is digital. During roleplaying, it isn't beneficial to be reminded that everything is a game, which happens when missions go poorly, buttons become unresponsive, or NPCs behave in strange ways. While Patch 1.23 is a significant step forward in addressing the numerous issues that have given Cyberpunk 2077 a poor reputation, it still does not appear to be sufficient this far down the road.

Sony and CD Projekt Red appear to have finally reached a deal on the game's relisting on the PlayStation Store. According to Stephen Totilo of Axios Gaming, the game will be available for purchase on PlayStation again on June 21. Earlier this week, PlayStation customers who had owned the game were allowed to download it again. However, new purchases were still not available.

I previously reported that Sony and CD Projekt Red had reached an agreement on a "mechanism" to bring the game back on the platform. While we don't know exactly what this process entailed, it was most likely a timeline of performance and bug fixes intended at getting the game up to par.
