Guardians of the Galaxy Release Date, Trailer, Plot, and Important News

The Guardians of the Galaxy will make a surprising comeback this autumn in a new video game adventure from Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal.

Square Enix revealed a new Marvel video game created by Eidos-Montréal, the company most known for its work on the renowned Deus Ex franchise, during its E3 2021 broadcast. Surprisingly, Guardians of the Galaxy will be a single-player story-driven game, as opposed to Crystal Dynamics' latest Avengers release.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be Square Enix's second game released as part of its relationship with Marvel, and it appears to have learned some lessons from Avengers. Even more noteworthy, unlike its reviled cousin, the release of Guardians of the Galaxy looks near, implying that additional information about the game will be published shortly.

  • What Is The Story Of Guardians Of The Galaxy?

Guardians of the Galaxy will have its own plot that is distinct from both the film series and the comic books. The narrative of the game is mostly unknown, but we do know that the main crew will do what fans expect them to do: explore the galaxy in pursuit of money and glory before being dragged into a terrible battle that will lead them to emerge as heroes. The player will assume the character of Peter Quill, or Star-Lord, with the rest of the Guardians serving as commandable NPCs. Lady Hellbender, a lesser-known Marvel villain, as well as the Blood Brothers, will emerge as major antagonists.

The game also has the opportunity for the user to make decisions that will have an impact on the plot and character interactions. After some conversational choices, a Telltale-style pop-up indicating a character's current view on Peter will display, which may impact the game — for example, a character you enraged may refuse to help unlock a shortcut during a task. Considering this, the game has been confirmed to feature a single ending for all playthroughs, implying that the player's decisions will mostly matter due to gameplay influences or unique encounters and cutscenes.

  • What Is The Gameplay Of Guardians Of The Galaxy?

As much more about the gameplay remains unknown, the single-player adventure will enable the player to control Peter Quill in fierce combat reminiscent of Eidos-Tomb Montréal's Raider titles mixed with Square's Avengers title. During combat, players may join up with Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, with the characters bantering with one other while they annihilate foes. The user may direct the squad to use various assaults and special maneuvers, as well as order all Guardians to join up or disperse.

At launch, there will be no microtransactions or DLC, and the game will be a full and complete experience. Guardians of the Galaxy, like many superhero games, will offer a variety of different outfits for the squad, all of which are acquired via gameplay, including vintage comic book versions of the Guardians outfits.

  • Date of Release & News

The brand new Guardians title will be released this year on October 26th, 2021, in an unexpected shift. The game is certainly extremely well along in production, and Square has merely been delaying its announcement. This delayed announcement might be due to early doubt about a firm release date owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, or it may just be a tactic to generate even more anticipation around the game's impending release date.

Gamers will not have to wait long to step into the shoes of Star-Lord and explore the galaxy with the rest of the crew. Pre-orders are now available, with the group receiving additional throwback skins based on early comic book appearances. The game will also be available in a Deluxe Edition, which will include a steel book, additional costumes, and a CD of the game's soundtrack. The game will have a soundtrack with over 30 classic '80s tunes, including Iron Maiden and KISS songs, that will play throughout gameplay and at the player's pleasure during downtime.

Guardians of the Galaxy, developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 26, 2021.
