According to a PlayStation Japan Twitter post Sony announces that they acquire Housemarque, but appears like it has bought Bluepoint.

Earlier today, Sony announced the acquisition of Housemarque, the exclusive rogue Returnal company responsible for PlayStation 5. While great news, Returnal's success does not surprise me. Moreover, rumors and conjecture had taken place about such an acquisition. However, Housemarque might not be Sony's only new studio because Sony themselves may, by accident, have leaked word about the fact that Bluepoint Games has been purchased as well.

Sony has revealed its purchase by its social media outlets of Hoursemarque. It has tweeted an image of both the PlayStatus Studios and Hausemarque logo on the official Twitter Playstation account with the slogan "Welcome to your Family" in the photographs of mutliple exclusive PlayStation (including the well-received PS5 Returnal game).

A similar graphic was presented on PlayStation Japan along with its own announcement; however, it displayed Bluepoint in place of showing Hosuemarque's name and emblem. The Tweet has been deleted from now, but Twitter Nibel, who was able to locate and check for the original Tweet through Tweetdeck, has now saved the image for posterity.

Instead it was displaying BluePoint's name and emblem, and the PlayStation Japan posted a similar picture together with its own announcement. The message has been deleted since, but a Twitter user, Nibel, who tracked and tested the original Tweet courtesy to Tweetdeck, saved the image for posterity.

 For those who are not familiar with Bluepoint Games, the God of War Collection and Ico & Shadow of PlayStation 3 are generally renowned for producing remastered pursuits. In more recent times, some loved titles, especially Shadow of the Colossus for PlayStation 4 and Demon's Souls for the PS5, have been published with their entire remakes. A short glance at the portfolio shows that it worked largely on PlayStation's exclusive projects and hence already has a strong working connection with Sony, while it launched several titles for the Xbox 360. Some have even hoped that Sony will obtain the study correctly at some time. Some have even hoped.

Between its purchases of studios such as Housemarque and Insomniac, the partnerships Sony has established with Microsoft, which is openly eager to pick up studios that develop Xbox exclusive, are clearly more to be maintained. The safest guess as to what Bluepoint might do next is that it will be another remaster or restorer. Many speculations have existed in the past about Metal Gear Solid and Jak & Daxter remakes, but none of them have beenar fruit so far.
