The Switch is still the main act of Nintendo and the other consoles are left behind before manufacturing and use are progressively being phased out. But even when the Wii U and 3DS are changed to the Switch, certain fans of these platforms and the games still exist. However, these consoles are no longer able to use the famous streaming service Netflix.

Because the 3DS is a mobile system, players may play any game on the move, but specific programs have also been offered to use. This contains a web browser, YouTube and Netflix applications. All this made it possible for a multipurpose system, used by Nintendo enthusiasts, to watch shows on the basis of the favored franchise, such as the well-known animated series Castlevania. Netflix has nevertheless begun to phase down its 3DS and Wii U services progressively. This began when the Nintendo eShop app was withdrawn last December and on 30 June services are stopped.

Some claim both platforms are outdated, with the Wii U being badly sold and the 3DS already 10 years old this year. Others would claim it was unavoidable and certain services will stop supporting the old technology. The formal notification was made on the support website of Nintendo of America and the news reached Twitter. Some people expressed nostalgia about using the streaming service on these systems to note the news and complain that on Nintendo consoles you can no longer access Netflix.

Even if Netflix can no longer be found on consoles, gaming content is still exclusively available on the 3DS and Wii U. Some anticipate that more titles might be removed from these digital storage systems with this termination. Some are hard to get a game, such as the Metroid Prime Trilogy, a port that features the original GameCube and Wii Prime Metroid games. Some believe that the storefront might disappear completely in a few years' time.

Now that this service is no longer available on a Nintendo platform, some fans question whether Netflix might be transferred to the Nintendo switch. The system was a great success for Nintendo, where some of the top sellers of all time were outsourced. Some fans feel Netflix might profit from bringing its services on the Switch with the amount of Switch devices sold. Due to platform mobility such as 3DS, this position is backed by fans, coupled with a wide, increasingly varied game catalog.
