J Balvin's Skin is now available in Fortnite

Fortnite Added J Balvin Skin in the Icon Series.

The Icon Series in Fortnite continues to grow, with the most recent addition being Colombian musician J Balvin.

The next addition to Fortnite's expanding Icon Series has been revealed. Colombian musician J Balvin, who headlined last year's in-game Fortnite Halloween performance known as Fortnitemares, will be the next star to enter the fight.

The Icon Series was created as a means to show respect to the influencers and streamers who helped propel Fortnite to its present enormous popularity. Since then, Fortnite's definition has been broadened to include major personalities such as LeBron James, Travis Scott, and, most recently, Ariana Grande. Fans should not be surprised to see J Balvin join the Icon Series, given that both Scott and Grande performed in-game performances before earning their own cosmetics in Fortnite.

J Balvin's cosmetics, like the previous Icon Series sets, will feature back bling, a glider, a pickaxe, and, like LeBron James, two extra styles to complement his base skin. Balvin's back bling and pickaxe are multicolored katanas, and his glider is a rainbow snowboard emblazoned with his trademark smiling face insignia. Naturally, all three of his skins will include J Balvin's own Jordan 1 collaboration.

The J Balvin set is due to be released on August 26 at 8 p.m. ET, but eager fans may get their hands on it sooner thanks to an in-game competition. The J Balvin Cup, which debuted tomorrow, is a duos cup in which players fight against one other to win as many points as possible, with one point granted for each elimination a team scores. Following a total of ten matches, duos groups will be rated against others in their region, with the top-performing partners receiving the J Balvin skin, back bling, and pickaxe.

Fortnite will also debut the "La Fiesta" event on the same day as the cosmetic set's official release as a further homage to the Colombian artist. La Fiesta is going to be a conventional island in Fortnite from 26 August to 9 September, similar to the prior year's introduction of the new "La Familia." This is a community-based island related to J Balvin, too. Sadly, being a circular track with a beautiful chromatic color scheme, La Fiesta Island has led many people null in the community sarcastically to compare it with Mario Kart's renowned Rainbow Road.

Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
