Sea of Thieves is gaining a lot of publicity, and that's saying something. Even if its launch didn't go over well with everyone, the Rare-developed pirate game has had a strong two years. In any case, it's clear that the developer is making the most of the opportunity, as Sea of Thieves' crossovers have been quite impressive thus far. Toisthe good Gaming news.

Sea of Thieves, for example, recently published a ton of Pirates of the Caribbean-themed crossover content. If any pirate aficionados were hesitant to give it a try before, the addition of Jack Sparrow and extra content did a lot to entice new and returning players back. Sea of Thieves creator Rare has revealed the game's next crossover at Xbox's Gamescom event, despite the fact that it is significantly smaller in scope.

Sea of Thieves is bringing new Borderlands-inspired content to the game as part of the Making Mayhem event. The main attraction is a Borderlands-themed ship that is plastered in Vault symbols all over. A pirate-themed Claptrap figurehead adorns the ship's bow, providing more than enough flare for any lover of both series to try and obtain.

Players must earn enough Favor during the tournament to do so. It runs from August 24 to September 7, giving players about two weeks to finish this crossover event. Fortunately, that appears to be more than enough time. Furthermore, players only need to visit a Sea of Thieves outpost during the time slot to learn more about the event, which promises a slew of chaotic activities for them to partake in.

Because Halo Infinite did not make an appearance at Xbox's Gamescom Showcase, this crossover is likely one of the most significant announcements. Despite this, Xbox came out swinging in terms of content, announcing a new partnership that will bring many Humble Games to Game Pass on day one, Xbox Cloud coming to consoles, a jaw-dropping video for Forza Horizon 5, and more.

Phil Spencer wants the Xbox app to be available on as many devices as possible.

This isn't the conclusion of the story. While the Xbox showcase is taking place today, Gamescom Opening Night Live will continue the following day. With a promise of 30 or more games at the expo, it's fascinating that Saints Row, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Far Cry 6, and other titles have been announced. Overall, Xbox has set a high bar for the event, so it will be interesting to watch how it unfolds. While they wait for the stream to begin, users can participate in the Making Mayhem crossover event in Sea of Thieves.

For PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, Sea of Thieves is now available.
