Tales of Arise will be released on September 10th, after a five-year wait for the next installment in the Tales RPG series. The game promises to shake things up from what fans have come to expect from the franchise since its inception, which can be intimidating for some players. Could they expect this new game to feel like the Tales RPGs they've been familiar with for years? They won't have to wait long to find out, because Tales of Arise will be getting a playable demo on August 18th.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has been showing off Tales of Arise's fishing and cooking features, as well as the game's animated opening, in an attempt to pique fans' interest.

The publisher has now announced that a demo of Tales of Arise's combat and world exploration features will be available in less than a week. There isn't much information about how long the demo will be just yet, but some recent demos have been quite lengthy. There's a chance that this game's demo will give players a long first look at what Arise has to offer after they've waited patiently for years.

Unfortunately, the progress made in the Tales of Arise demo will not be carried over to the full game. Players who want to try out the game on PC will have to sit this one out entirely, as there is no mention of a PC demo.

There are some advantages and disadvantages to this situation. Players are put in two difficult situations because they have no idea how large the RPG's demo is. If the demo is lengthy, players may find it tedious to repeat tasks such as unlocking Mystic Artes twice with the full game after having done so once.

However, if the demo is limited, it may not be enough to persuade long-time fans or even newcomers to pick up the latest Tales title. The way the game's beginning compares to older titles like Tales of Berseria appears to be changing the course of Arise's next month. If the demo is good or bad, it has the potential to sway even the most devoted players' hearts at the last minute.

Tales of Arise will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on September 10th, with a free demo available on August 18th.
