Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is coming soon to Nintendo Switch. Aspyr Media is bringing the renowned Star Wars role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to the Nintendo Switch in November.

"We're ecstatic to announce that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will be coming to Nintendo Switch in November!" Aspyr expressed himself on Twitter. "Thank you very much to [Nintendo of America] for showing our future game at [the Nintendo Direct on September 23]." The Switch port of Knights of the Old Republic will be available for download on Thursday, November 11 for $14.99 USD, according to its official Nintendo eShop website.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast, Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Episode I - Racer, and Star Wars: Republic Commando is among the classic Star Wars titles that Aspyr has translated to Nintendo's hybrid platform.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, set approximately 4,000 years before the establishment of the Galactic Empire, was developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts, initially released for the Xbox in North America on July 15, 2003, with a Windows version coming on November 19, 2003. Aspyr later adapted the game to Mac OS X, iOS, and Android, with versions available in 2004, 2013, and 2014.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords, developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released for the Xbox in North America on December 6, 2004, was the sequel to Knights of the Old Republic. The Sith Lords, like its predecessor, later gained Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android versions, as well as a Linux version. A third single-player installment in the series was planned but never materialized. BioWare Austin did, however, create Star Wars: The Old Republic, an MMORPG that was released for Windows in North America on December 20, 2011.

The announcement of the original Knights of the Old Republic being moved to Switch comes shortly after Aspyr announced a collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a remake of the beloved game. The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is believed to be in early production and has no set release date, but it will be released simultaneously on PC and PlayStation 5. It will be a limited-time PS5 platform exclusive, although it is likely to find its way to other systems later.

On November 11, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will be released on Nintendo Switch.
