With 20 nominations throughout its portfolio, Microsoft/Bethesda takes the lead among all publishers.

The nominees for the 2021 Game Awards have been announced by Geoff Keighley, host and creator of the annual Game Awards, which will be presented live from Los Angeles on December 9.

Deathloop, Psychonauts 2, It Takes Two, Resident Evil: Village, Metroid Dread, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are among the six games nominated for Game of the Year.

Deathloop by Arkane Studios is the game with the most nominations, with nine, including Game of the Year and Best Game Direction. Electronic Arts' It Takes Two and Hazelight are tied for second place with Double Fine's Psychonauts 2 with five nominations each.

Xbox/Bethesda leads all other publishers with 20 nominations at this year's show, thanks to the 14 combined nominations for Deathloop and Psychonauts. With 11 nominations, Sony Interactive Entertainment is in second place, while Square Enix and Electronic Arts are tied for third with ten overall.

The 2021 Game Awards will begin on Thursday, December 9 at 4 p.m. PDT / 7 p.m. ET. Geoff Keighley, the show's host, has previously hinted around 40-50 world premiere game announcements to accompany the awards.
