Although the game had a shaky start, the future of Battlefield 2042 appears to be brightening owing to sustained support from developer DICE. The company is set to deliver the third title update for the new shooter this week. The 0.3.0 version is set to be released on December 2nd, and it will include a slew of bug fixes, changes, and improvements.

The rocky launch of Battlefield 2042 has left many players wondering why the online multiplayer FPS was released in such a state. While that question goes unanswered, it is evident that EA DICE is aware of the numerous troubles Battlefield 2042 players are experiencing. The third update for Battlefield 2042 is officially guaranteed for December 2, yet another patch addressing the game's ongoing problems as it approaches its first full month of availability.

When will the Ultimate Edition of Battlefield 2042 be released?/When will Battlefield 2042 be released on PC?

Battlefield 2042 update 3 will release on 2 December, according to EA DICE, addressing further problems and feedback areas. That means not only will there be a large number of fixes, but also a diverse set of balance modifications and quality-of-life enhancements. Weekly Missions will be released the week following the release of Update 3, as well as new game mode layouts for Rush's All-Out Warfare maps in Battlefield Portal.

What has changed in battlefield 2042?

Although there are still too many fixes to go into in-depth for more than a few, there are a few significant fixes that Battlefield 2042 gamers will recognize as crucial. First and foremost, EA DICE claims that matchmaking reliability has improved and matchmaking failures have decreased. Matchmaking troubles have undoubtedly been one of the most aggravating aspects of Battlefield 2042 for players thus far. Another key issue, frame rates, and performance, isn't addressed directly, but EA DICE has solved various rendering issues related to flickering and stuttering, particularly when joining a match in the middle and issues with in-game water.

The Breakthrough game mode has been modified in terms of balance. Capture times have been "tuned," spawning has been altered so that players will be safer when returning to the action, and a variety of UI modifications have been implemented. Specialists have also been targeted for enhancement, such as Angel's Loadout Crate, Dozer's SOB-8 Ballistic Shield, Casper's OV-P Recon Drone, and Boris' SG-36 Sentry Gun, which will remain active until a player is killed rather than just downed.

The following is a shortened list of changes:

  • To improve user reporting, the Recent Players screen now includes everyone from previous matches.
  • Improved the "Interaction" system by changing the default "INTERACT" text on numerous interactions to represent the action you are about to perform, such as "OPEN CONTAINER", "CALL ELEVATOR".
  • The lighting problem in the Kaleidoscope server room has been resolved.
  • Resolved a problem with the velocity/trajectory of jets while spawning Improved helicopter animation in level fly-bys during insertion.
  • Improvements to fix a problem in which players killed in vehicles might fall below level geometry.
  • Improvements to the deploying screen presentation's streaming assets.
  • The player is no longer locked in a zipline/rope after exiting a vehicle that was too near to a zipline or rope.
  • When you exit an available seat early in the entry animation, your aim pitch no longer locks up.
  • Following the insertion sequences, the correct field of view is applied.

With this patch, EA DICE sends a message that it is hard at work not only repairing the game's many faults but also addressing input on balance and fun. It would be an understatement to suggest that today's patch is aggressive. EA DICE wants players to know that it is working hard to improve the game, even if it will take time. It's just a shame that these adjustments are being made to Battlefield 2042 after the game has already been released, rather than before.

Having said that, there are certainly huge improvements that should be made to Battlefield 2042. The Battlefield 2042 community continues to express concern regarding performance across all platforms. Hopefully, Battlefield 2042 gamers may expect those kinds of significant patch upgrades in the run-up to or before the game's Season 1 release in 2022. The third update will be available on December 2nd.

Battlefield 2042 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
