Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout PS5 Version Could Be Released Soon

PS5 Version of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is coming soon.

According to recent updates, Devolver Digital's multiplayer mayhem Fall Guys will be receiving a native PS5 version soon.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, Devolver Digital's and Mediatonic's multiplayer smash hit on PS4, continues to be a hit. It was a surprise hit in 2020, thanks to its fast-paced platforming gameplay, which attracted a large number of fans and players via word-of-mouth and Twitch streams. Many collaborations in the form of outfits have also been spotted in the game, with properties such as Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many others being represented.

Fall Guys was a huge hit on the PS4, thanks in part to the fact that it was a free PS Plus game at launch. While it was available, Fall Guys even set a new global record for the most downloaded PS Plus title. Fall Guys appears to be destined for another PlayStation platform, as recent updates indicate that the game will be released on Sony's next-generation console, the PS5.

The Twitter account @PlayStationSize made this revelation, where they keep track of games coming to PlayStation systems and how much space they will take up. The account discovered a new Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout beta in the PlayStation 5 database, complete with a game image with the beta designation.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, like other PS4 games, can be played on the PS5 via backward compatibility, which takes advantage of the console's Game Boost function. This discovery, however, suggests that it will be native to the PS5, allowing the game to take advantage of the console's unique features. The account also mentions that the Beta version will not be available to the general public, therefore the PS5 native version could arrive sooner rather than later.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC, with Nintendo Switch and Xbox versions due out next year. Fall Guys' expected PS5 release is one of the reasons why other versions of the game were postponed until 2022, as the creators were working on crossplay features for all versions of the game. Since the introduction of Fall Guys, the developers have been seeking to integrate crossplay, so it's probable that fans will be able to play against others regardless of the console at some point in the near future.
