Sony Pictures has released a teaser for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the highly anticipated sequel to the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, promising a colorful visual feast. This first glimpse depicts Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy reuniting after a long separation. We also see Miles fighting Spider-Man 2099 as they fall and traverse through various realms. This is also the first time we've heard that the sequel is a "Part One" of a greater plot.

According to Deadline, the title 'Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse' (Part One), which was revealed on Sunday at the Brazil Comic-Con, indicates that the picture will be the first installment of a two-part sequel.

The trailer begins with Miles Morales, played by Shamiek Moor, listening to Post Malone and Swae Lee's song Sunflower, which was featured on the original film's soundtrack. Miles is soon surprised by Spider-Gwen, a.k.a. Gwen Stacy, who appears via an interdimensional portal and is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld.

In this first teaser, Spider-Man 2099, played by Oscar Isaac, is seen attacking Miles, and Lord and Miller revealed how he did it "'Don't make me boring,' he said as a condition of taking the job. Miguel O'Hara has become a very complex figure for him, and he is far from dull.

Miles will jump between many dimensions across the Spider-Verse, and this teaser is "only a taste" of what the team is planning. In addition, "Every dimension is visually and aurally distinct from the others. They all appear to have been created by a distinct artist."

The movie Into the Spider-Verse was a huge hit, grossing $375.5 million worldwide and garnering Sony Animation their first Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K Thompson will direct the sequel.

According to Deadline, the directors said in a joint statement earlier this year, "The crew behind... Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse set such a stupidly high bar, and we're humbled to take on the challenge of charting the next chapter in the story of Miles Morales." "We can't wait to surprise Miles' supporters with the exciting new adventure he'll embark on with his old and new companions!"
