Pokemon GO was introduced nearly five years ago by Niantic and The Pokemon Company, and the mobile AR game is still being updated with fresh material. The next Johto Tour, which focuses on Pokemon from the second generation, is included with the new material for Pokemon GO.

Niantic has revealed that, due to the success of Pokemon GO's Kanto Tour, another GO Tour will be released in February, focusing on the Johto region. To participate, Pokemon GO lovers must purchase GO Johto Tour tickets, which are now on sale for $11.99. Fans will be able to choose between two versions of the event, one concentrating on Pokemon Gold and the other on Pokemon Silver, just as they did with the previous Pokemon GO Tour.

Shiny Pokemon such as Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Spinarak, Igglybuff, Natu, Hoppip, Sunkern, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Gligar, Shuckle, Teddiursa, Swinub, Mantine, and Ho-Oh have improved encounter rates in Pokemon GO's Johto Tour Gold version. This ticket version's incense will also attract more Spinarak, Gligar, Teddiursa, and Mantine. More Johto Pokemon will appear in the wild, raids, and hatch from seven-kilometer Eggs in both versions, while baby Pokemon such as Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Togepi will hatch from two-kilometer Eggs.

Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO Tour Silver include Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Ledyba, Cleffa, Sudowoodo, Hoppip, Yanma, Pineco, Delibird, Skarmory, Houndour, Phanpy, Miltank, Larvitar, and Lugia. The Silver version's incense will attract more Ledyba, Delibird, Skarmory, and Phanpy. To complete the Pokemon Johto Tour Collection Challenges, players must swap Pokemon with one another in order to obtain Pokemon from the alternate version.

Supporters of Pokemon GO's Kanto Tour had to select between Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green, with each delivering its own set of goodies, and the Johto Tour is no different. Just with the Nintendo Switch games Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, each edition has its own set of Pokemon. The purchase of a ticket also includes an event-exclusive Special Study, which unlocks an exclusive Masterwork Research line once the first research is completed.

Fans who buy a Johto Tour ticket by Monday, January 10 will get both the January and February Timed Research, however those who buy a ticket by Thursday, February 10 will only get the February Timed Research. Early ticket-holders will have a minor advantage due to this scheduled study, thus the sooner Pokemon GO players board the Johto Tour, the more they'll be rewarded. Three Pokemon GO Remote Raid Passes, extra candy, and an exclusive in-game medal commemorating the event are included in both versions' rewards.

Trainers in a few select cities will be able to continue celebrating as their Johto trip comes to an end on Sunday, February 27, 2022, with a unique step back into the Kanto event. This is a separate event from the main Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event. You have the option of participating in both the global and in-person events, or simply one of them. It's entirely up to you! Remember that the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto adventures can only be had on February 26, 2022.

Pokemon GO is now available on Android and iOS devices.
