The horror game that started on Kickstarter is now coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S next year. Scorn Gets a New Release Date on Xbox Series X and PC. Scorn was intended to be released this year, but developer Ebb Software put it back to 2022 a few months ago, and now it has a set release month.

For the past few years, the Scorn development team has been keeping fans updated on the progress of the Xbox Series X and PC game on Kickstarter. While that information has been sparse in the past, Ebb Software has recently been giving additional details. However, the most recent piece of information did not come through the crowdfunding platform. This time, the business published a new teaser that showcased the game's typical somber setting and ended with the announcement of a new release date.

The new Scorn teaser doesn't reveal much more about the game than has already been shown over the last few years. However, at the end of the video, the new release date is announced as October 2022.

If Ebb Software's game is ultimately released for PC and Xbox Series X/S next fall, it will be the end of a long and winding voyage. Scorn was first announced in 2016 and has since been postponed several times. Some of the statements about the delayed release date have not been welcomed with positive feedback from the game's Kickstarter backers, which has led to the Ebb creators reacting in a way that even they agree isn't the best possible response.

When the game was again delayed early this fall, creative director Ljubomir Peklar wrote a post on Kickstarter for which the Scorn creator later apologized. Peklar apologized for "haphazardly" approving the phrasing for the fresh delay notice, which many of the game's supporters interpreted as negative. He went on to say that while he didn't view it that way when the phrase was first authorized, he understood why some others did.

Scorn backers who were tired of waiting for the game to be launched might request a refund as part of that letter. It's unclear how many people really requested a refund from their Kickstarter investment or if any did. Those that stuck around will be able to play Scorn on their current-generation consoles next fall, according to reports.

Scorn will be released in October 2022 for the PC and Xbox Series X/S.
