It's possible that Star Wars: Eclipse won't be released until 2027.

The recently announced action-adventure game Star Wars Eclipse may not be released for several years due to development issues.

The Game Awards 2021 held on December 9, has shown a variety of world premiere announcements, ranging from minor indie games to new installments in long-running franchises. Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake 2, Telltale Games' The Expanse, which will be the studio's first new IP since its re-launch in 2019, and Quantic Dream's Star Wars Eclipse were among the notable titles.

Whereas many Star Wars fans were ecstatic at the idea of a new game in the property, others were disappointed to learn that it will be developed by Quantic Dream, a Paris-based developer, and publisher. The studio has been accused of workplace harassment, discrimination, and creating a hostile work environment for more than a decade. The hashtag #blackoutstarwarseclipse began trending on social media shortly after the project's debut at The Game Awards, as fans protested Quantic Dream's involvement in the creation of Star Wars Eclipse.

Tom Henderson, an industry source and leaker who has previously been proven to offer accurate information, revealed a week ago that Quantic Dream may be encountering difficulties with the project. Despite the fact that Star Wars Eclipse has supposedly been under development for 18 months, there is still no playable version. According to Henderson, the game won't be ready for release for another four years "at the very least," and development may go as far as early 2027.

When the star Wars  Eclipse will release date?

If the claims are genuine, there are most likely two key reasons for Star Wars Eclipse's slow progress. The first is that Quantic Dream is having trouble finding employees to work on the project because of its image as a hostile workplace, particularly for women and members of the LGBTQ community. Quantic Dream received a minority interest from Chinese gaming giant NetEase in 2019, but the studio's ability to attract other big investors or possible acquisitions has been hampered by the allegations against it.

It has means the second reason for the delayed development of Star Wars Eclipse: a lack of resources. Since its inception in 1997, Quantic Dream has created five games, the majority of which have been single-player linear experiences. Star Wars Eclipse, on the other hand, is intended to contain a multiplayer component as well as an open environment, which necessitates the use of a game engine with specific characteristics. In addition to producing Star Wars Eclipse, Quantic Dream will need to either further develop its in-house game engine or obtain license rights to utilize a third-party one, both of which need funds that the firm does not appear to have right now. However, until the developer makes a remark, these speculations remain unsubstantiated.

Star Wars Eclipse is in development now.
