A new Pikmin Game Could Be Announced This Year.

Although the year has only just begun, the Nintendo Switch already offers a fantastic lineup of exclusive games scheduled for release in 2022. Many fans are already speculating about what else Nintendo might announce, and a new rumor claims that the company has major plans for Pikmin.

On Twitter, the leak group @LeakyPandy claims to have learned about a new series entry in production at Next Level Games, the studio behind Luigi's Mansion 3. Readers are encouraged to treat this rumor with a grain of salt until we obtain official confirmation from Nintendo concerning the game.

Pikmin has never been a great seller for Nintendo, but the series still has a devoted fan base. Pikmin was launched on the GameCube just a few weeks after it was released. Pikmin 3 was converted to Nintendo Switch in response to considerable fan demand, and the primary series has spawned two direct sequels.

Shigeru Miyamoto, the series' creator, stated that a fourth game was in the works many years ago, but Nintendo hasn't spoken anything about it in a long time. The Pikmin property, on the other hand, certainly remains a priority for the corporation; Pikmin Bloom was released for mobile devices last year, and the Pikmin characters have debuted at Universal Studios Japan's Super Nintendo World.

If this is correct, Next Level Games would be an excellent choice for the new game! After all, with Luigi's Mansion, the company has had a lot of success resurrecting another GameCube franchise. Nintendo bought Future Level Games last year, but no details on the studio's next project have been released.

The team's last three titles, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon in 2013, Metroid Prime: Federation Force in 2016, and Luigi's Mansion 3 in 2019, were all released within three years of one another. If this tendency continues, their next game may not be released until 2023. Nintendo, hopefully, will make an announcement before then.
