Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the most popular animated shows, and its popularity has only grown over time. Fans have found something to enjoy about the franchise, whether it's the characters, story, or general world-building. Over the years, this has resulted in a wide range of media, from comic books to a Netflix live-action production of Avatar, spin-offs, and video games. Third-party firms developed video games for the brand, which received mixed reviews.

A set of Legend of Korra-based adventures produced by Activision in 2014 was the most recent video game made with the Avatar license. PlatinumGames released a third-person beat-em-up action-adventure for major systems, while Nintendo released a strategy RPG for the 3DS in the manner of Fire Emblem. Both of these games received mixed reviews, and there have been no more games afterward. However, new AAA video games set in the universe of Avatar are supposedly in the works.

Details were revealed about two of the four games under production, according to Avatar News, with the Square Enix-developed Avatar mobile game, which was launched last year, being one of the four. At least one of these games will include characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, however, they will be recast with new Asian and Indigenous voices. This casting applies to the voice acting cast for the games, not the cast of the live-action Netflix show, according to the story.

According to the story, these games have been in production for a few years and will be released soon. It also defines the genres that this Avatar: The Last Airbender games will be inspired by, with RPG being the most prominent, but action-adventure mechanics may also be featured. There are no exact facts about gameplay or anything else in the piece, according to the report.

In terms of the MMORPG, there are similarly few data available. There are no specifics on which platforms the MMO will be available on or whether it will be related to the aforementioned console game. The studios participating in these two games are collaborating with Paramount's Avatar Studios, although their identities have not yet been revealed. Regardless, this revelation may be exciting for Avatar fans, and because the games are cooperative work with the original designers, they can help expand on the story.

According to reports, an RPG and MMORPG based on Avatar: The Last Airbender is in development.
