Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a novel twist on the mainline Pokemon games, allowing players to travel back in time rather than focusing on becoming a Pokemon Master in the present. The game's story and exploration-friendly world provide plenty of entertainment, but a recent discovery may point to DLC plans or possibly content cuts.

Spoilers for Pokemon Legends: Arceus is given below.

Players can play as either Rei or Akari in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, depending on whether they want to play as a male or female character. While players are charged with finding Pokemon in this ancient Pokemon environment, the game also has a link to a more recognizable version of the Pokemon concept.

Due to a space-time distortion that has opened up between the present and Hisui's historical times, players in Pokemon Legends: Arceus are propelled into the past. Because the player character is from the present era, it may come as a surprise to gamers that they will not be able to see the current world. Even the player's bedroom, which is where most primary Pokemon games begin, is absent from the Arceus legend. That, however, may or may not alter in the future.

DeepGameResearch, a game hacker, recently uncovered that what looks to be the player's room does exist within the game's files. A video later posted by Faz Faz shows fans around the unique environment, which hasn't previously been shown in any Pokemon game. The chamber appears to be finished, with distinct textures, and even includes a Nintendo Switch, as other games have done with classic Nintendo systems. Nothing can be interacted with, and there is no access to the outside world, but it provides an exciting peek into what the game developers either planned or are still preparing for Arceus.

It's possible that the game was designed to start in the player's bedroom before they were transported to the past, or that they will return there in the future Pokemon Legends: Arceus DLC. The room seems to be finished enough that it might be included in the game right now, but it's unclear how it would fit into the tale. Of course, it's also possible that the area was meant to be a flashback or a cutscene. Meanwhile, considering Pokemon Legends: Arceus's overall success, many fans are looking for more from the game in the future.

Arceus' popularity arises in part from his break from the traditional Pokemon formula. Even still, the thought of traveling to the current world and discovering how the player's actions have affected it has piqued gamers' interest. For the time being, gamers will have to wait and see what Nintendo and Game Freak have planned for the game.

The Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is now available.
