According to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense's Chief Directorate of Intelligence, a group of important persons who oppose President Vladimir Putin and plan to assassinate him is forming within the Russian commercial and political elite.

This group's goal is to remove Putin as quickly as possible and to rebuild Ukraine's economic links with the West, which have been destroyed by the conflict in the country.

"Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov is seen as Putin's successor by a segment of Russia's political elite." Bortnikov is the one who has recently fallen out of favor with Russia's tyrant. The official explanation for the FSS leader's demise is a series of deadly miscalculations in the battle against Ukraine.

Bortnikov and his team were in charge of analyzing the Ukrainian people's attitudes and the Ukrainian army's capabilities.

Bortnikov and other key members of Russia's elite are reported to be examining various methods for deposing Putin. Poisoning, an unexpected illness, or other "accident" are not precluded.

It is possible that these processes are linked to the recent "leak" of the position of Chechen units in Kyiv's northwestern outskirts.

According to intelligence, this leak may have been meant to weaken Kadyrov's power as well as to forge ahead of time cooperation with Ukrainian authorities, bypassing the Russian Federation's existing leadership.
