Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has survived 3 assassination attempts in the previous week, according to reports.

Assassins have attempted to assassinate Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky at least 3 times after Russia attacked his country last week, according to a new report.

The assassination plots were thwarted after anti-war Russians passed on information to Ukraine about two independent mercenary groups planning to carry out the attacks, according to the Times of London.

"I can tell that we have got information from [Russia's Federal Security Service] that they do not want to participate in this deadly battle," Ukraine's Secretary of National Security and Defence told local TV stations, according to the Times.

According to the Times, the Wagner Group, a secretive Kremlin-backed organization, was behind two of the attempts. If they were or are successful, Moscow may be able to deny any direct involvement in the assassination plot.

"They'd be going in with a very high-profile mission, something the Russians would want to deny — an assassination of a head of state is a massive mission," a diplomatic source told the newspaper.

"In terms of the impact on Russian sovereign policy, this could be their most important mission to yet." It would have a significant impact on the conflict."
