India has refused to allow a Japanese Self-Defense Force plane to land in the country to deliver humanitarian aid to displaced Ukrainians.
This is according to Nikkei Asia, which cites Sanae Takaichi, policy chief of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, as saying, Toisthe report.
The Japanese government planned to load supplies such as blankets onto the plane during a stopover in India and transport them to Ukraine's neighbors, including Poland and Romania.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees had requested the assistance.
On the aid batch, no further information was provided.
"Clearly, the government has not done enough groundwork," Takaichi said of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's government's response to the situation.
