President Egils Levits has stated that Latvia can help Ukraine in exporting grain through Latvian ports.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, he said this at a joint briefing with the presidents of Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"We discussed with Mr. Zelensky how Latvia could help in the shipment of grain from Ukraine through Latvian ports. Following the meeting, we called our governments and pledged to take additional steps to ensure the success of this operation "Levits remarked.

He also stated that the presidents of the Baltic states and Poland are in favor of granting Ukraine EU candidate status and approving the decision through the expedited procedure.

On April 13, Poland's Andrzej Duda, Lithuania's Gitanas Nauseda, Latvia's Egils Levits, and Estonia's Alar Karis arrived in Kyiv. They went to communities around Kyiv, where they witnessed directly the impact of Russian war crimes.
