Blizzard boss says Warcraft 3: Reforged news is coming after a year of absence

Blizzard Entertainment's president has said that additional information on Warcraft 3: Reforged will be released in June.

The PC remaster of the 2002 strategy game was published in January 2020, and it was met with severe criticism from fans, earning it the title of worst user-scored game ever on Metacritic at the moment.

Blizzard announced in a blog post in May 2020 that it will "work towards a plan" to fix the game's problems, but it stopped releasing updates just a few months later.

Blizzard president Mike Ybarra has already tweeted that more details will be released next month.

When asked if there was "any news from the Warcraft 3 Reforged team" by a Twitter follower, Ybarra simply replied, "You'll hear from them shortly (in June)."

Character models and landscapes were reworked in Warcraft 3: Reforged, as well as connection with the Battle.net network.

However, the finished game lacked the revised cutscenes shown during its initial presentation, as well as several visual improvements including shader and lighting effects.

Blizzard released a patch for the game a few weeks after it was released, then promised more enhancements in a May 2000 update.

"We've been regrouping, listening to your comments, prioritizing the things we need to do for the game, and establishing a strategy to deliver on our next steps," the company said at the time.

However, the game's most recent patch was released in April 2021, with several promised features remaining unused, and a Bloomberg report from July 2021 reported that Classic Games, the Reforged development team, had been disbanded. source
