Ukraine wants an open the sea lanes to prevent Russia from causing another energy or food crisis, as it did previously.

If Ukrainian ports are not unblocked, the world will face a food crisis.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Australian television network Nine Network.

He stated that "for those countries where Ukraine has always been a guaranteed reliable partner, there will be a great tragedy in the food security of Europe and the world."

"Food products will have a high pricing policy." We could lose millions, if not tens of millions, of tons of already harvested crops if Russia does not release ships, do not let in and does not release, and they (the Russians - UNIAN) control the Black Sea," Zelensky said.

He highlighted that Ukraine wants to open the sea routes to prevent Russia from influencing the food crisis, as it had previously caused the winter energy crisis. "There will undoubtedly be a food crisis; there is no doubt about it. If we are unable to deliver our harvest to European ports and further afield, we will lose 100% of our harvest ""Additionally," he said. At the same time, he noted that Russia is well aware of the situation, and "this is the cynicism of this situation."

"They hit the bridges with missiles, knowing where these crossings are, how this or that of our goods goes for export, that is, they want to completely block the economy of our state," he says, adding that Russia understands the situation well.

Earlier, Zelensky stated that ending Russia's war against Ukraine is necessary to avoid a global food crisis and save dozens of countries from starvation.
