EU has suspended all duties on Ukrainian imports for a year

The European Union has officially suspended all duties on Ukrainian imports into the EU market in order to help Ukraine's economy, which has been affected by Russian aggression.

According to correspondent report, the relevant statement was made by European Commission Spokesperson for Trade and Agriculture Miriam Garcia Ferrer at a briefing in Brussels.

Miriam Garcia Ferrer stated, the Regulation suspending all duties on Ukrainian imports into the EU has been published in the Official Journal.

"It will go into effect tomorrow, June 4, and will be in effect until June 5, 2023," Garcia Ferrer said.

The European Commission, in her words, "welcomes the European Parliament and the European Council's swift adoption of these measures in response to its proposal of April 27, 2022."

"This is an unprecedented step to strengthen Ukraine's economy, which has been severely harmed by Russian aggression," Garcia Ferrer emphasized, adding that it will help alleviate the difficult situation faced by Ukrainian producers and exporters in the face of Russia's military invasion.

A reminder that the European Commission proposed suspending import duties on all Ukrainian exports to the EU for one year on April 27, 2022.
