Sims 4 High School Years Update Fix has been announced

Sims 4 High School Years Update

EA has announced a plan to fix several of the issues that come up since the recent High School Years free patch for The Sims 4.

The Sims 4 was released in 2014, but the game still has a lot of content. EA and Maxis produce regular updates, expansions, stuff packs, and other additions, ensuring that players always have something to do in The Sims 4.

Sadly, the introduction of this new content isn't always perfectly smooth. The most recent Sims 4 update introduced a number of problems, such as the potential for incest, quick aging, and unintended fame. Fortunately, EA has now revealed a fix will be released soon.

EA has looked into the issues that have been reported since the High School Years Sims 4 patch dropped, according to a tweet from the official Sims 4 account. The company claims that the fix will be released by the end of the week and should address some other problems that have remained since the update's release, such as the fact that some players have not yet received the pre-order bonus items they were promised.

Unfortunately, for the time being, this abandons the players. In order to prevent the Sims from aging quickly or even dying suddenly, EA has advised players not to use the short or long lifespan options in the interim. There isn't, however, any immediate guidance for averting the other problems. Others are probably horrified at seeing their Sims suddenly become interested in flirting with their own blood relatives, while some people may find these issues amusing. It is disappointing that players won't be able to play their regular saves as soon as they would like until sometime next week because many of them have probably been anticipating the release of the High School expansion.

It's a shame that the game's update was released in this state, because a widespread problem like this could have been detected before it was distributed to users. However, this isn't the first time that new Sims 4 updates and patches have gone wrong. Previously, EA had to scramble to fix problems with the My Wedding Stories game pack earlier this year, and a trait update in 2021 caused similar issues. Long-time Sims 4 fans are probably used to a few hiccups in the update process by this point.

It's unclear how much more support The Sims 4 will receive at the moment. Although many players are looking forward to The Sims 5 and what it may bring to the table, there is no official release date for the game yet, so it is likely still a long way off. With luck, any future Sims 4 expansions will be released more smoothly than High School Years.

The Sims 4 is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
