Release date for Warzone 2 appears to have been leaked

The release date for Warzone 2 appears to have been revealed via an internal Activision document.

The document, which was first posted to the r/classicwow subreddit (and spotted by Charlie Intel), reportedly lists Activision Blizzard's release schedule for the rest of the year, including Warzone 2.

According to the document, Warzone 2.0, also known internally as COD Warzone 2, will be released on November 16.

It's worth noting that Modern Warfare 2 is referred to in the document as "Cortez," which is the game's internal codename. It also states that the launch will take place on October 27 at 9 p.m. This is when the game will be released on the east coast of the United States.

The document also appears to reveal the "pre-purchase" date for Diablo IV, Blizzard's next RPG entry, which appears to coincide with The Game Awards.

The publisher announced in April that Infinity Ward, the developer of Modern Warfare 2, was also working on a brand-new free-to-play Warzone experience.

Warzone 2.0 will be accessible via Battle.net and Steam for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. It will include "a new sandbox mode and the brand-new playspace."

A recent image posted by Try Hard Guides purports to show Warzone 2's main map with all of its landmarks and several notable features, including a sizable body of water where players can swim.

The map of Warzone 2 will feature a variety of iconic landmarks, including regions based on well-liked multiplayer maps from Modern Warfare 2, as first revealed by report in September 2021.

According to reports, these will include Afghan, Highrise, Quarry, and Terminal.
