CD Projekt Red is keeping Cyberpunk 2077 alive and well with updates, and the most recent one adds a new feature to the Xbox Series version.

The most recent update for Cyberpunk 2077 now adds keyboard and mouse functionality for the Xbox Series version of the game, although not explicitly stating it in the patch notes. While developing a new Witcher game, CD Projekt Red is also hard at work releasing updates for their open-world sci-fi game. The developer has its work cut out for it in order to remedy a plethora of game-breaking issues given the situation that existed at the time of the game's initial release in 2020.

Regardless of the fact that the new Witcher game could start a new saga, CD Projekt Red is dedicated to the Cyberpunk 2077 series. As a result, the game has received numerous updates, including the 1.6 patch that was recently released. However, one user did discover the new function, despite the fact that it does not appear to have been implemented anywhere.

According to a Reddit post by PurpleMessi, Xbox Series owners can now play Cyberpunk 2077 with a mouse and keyboard owing to the new "Edgerunners" upgrade. Images in the thread show the user plugging in their devices. However, it has been reported that the latest patch does not provide mouse and keyboard compatibility to the PS5 version of the game, and no one seems to know why, especially given that the platform supports peripherals with other titles.
It's possible that CDPR will add the feature to the PS5 in a future update, but that's just speculation at the moment. Patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077 was recently released and is the final update for PS4 and Xbox One as the gaming industry transitions away from the previous generation of consoles. This implies that anyone playing the game on these older systems will be unable to access future material released by the studio, including the impending Phantom Liberty DLC, which is believed to introduce a new location to Night City.

The game has undergone a variety of improvements recently, but Cyberpunk 2077 may still be a pain in CD Projekt Red's side. It was regarded at the time of its release as one of the worst launches in recent memory, right with No Man's Sky. At this point, it is unclear if this is the developer's decision to return to the Witcher series, but the studio's reputation has undoubtedly suffered as a result of Cyberpunk.
