Sony has officially started accepting PlayStation VR2 pre-orders, which are currently only available in select regions and by invitation only.

Players interested in purchasing the PS VR2 can now register their interest, though doing so does not guarantee they will be able to pre-order a headset.

Pre-order registration is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg through PlayStation Direct.

To register, players must have a PlayStation Network account. If they are chosen, they will receive an email with the date, time, and instructions for completing a pre-order.

Those who live outside of the aforementioned countries can place an order as long as the PlayStation Direct website they use delivers to their country of residence.

"Due to limited quantities and high demand," Sony explained, "we will limit transactions to one PS VR2 per PSN ID per household."

PS VR2 will be available on February 22, 2023. The PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers, and stereo headphones are included in the $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99 package.

A $599.99 / €649.99 / £569.99 bundle is also available, which includes a PlayStation Store voucher code for the launch title Horizon Call of the Mountain.

A separate charging station for the headset costs $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 and allows players to charge the PS VR2 Sense controllers while leaving the PS5 console's USB ports free.

According to Sony, more than 20 games are currently in development for PS VR2 by PlayStation Studios and third-party partners.

Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution, No Man's Sky, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, and Demeo are among them.
