Major Quality of Life Changes Added in the Cult of the Lamb Update

Release of the most recent significant content update for Cult of the Lamb by Massive Monster brings about a number of quality-of-life enhancements.

Many of the quality-of-life enhancements included in the most recent update to Massive Monster's 2022 smash Cult of the Lamb have been long requested by the community. The cutesy horror game Cult of the Lamb became popular right away after its August 2022 release. It even received a nomination for Best Indie at The Game Awards 2022, though Stray by Blue Twelve Studio ultimately won.

Even on Halloween, Massive Monster celebrated with a Blood Moon Festival event that gave players access to some new follower forms. Despite this, Massive Monster has continued to support and regularly release updates for Cult of the Lamb. Fans can also anticipate the Relics of the Old Faith event in 2023, though it is still unknown exactly what it will entail.

The first of at least two sizable content updates for Cult of the Lamb that Massive Monster has planned for 2023 has just been made available. Players now have access to some fundamental options that were unavailable at launch, like the ability to rename the cult and rearrange the controller buttons. However, Update 1.1.0 also includes features like auto-fishing and auto-cooking that enhance accessibility or quality of life. Both of these game abilities require quick button presses and precise timing, so the auto function should make them simpler to execute.

Players will now be able to Bless, Inspire, and Intimidate multiple followers simultaneously in Cult of the Lamb thanks to the most recent content update. Recruiting followers and controlling their lives is a key idea in Cult of the Lamb. This includes keeping them content or well-behaved, sending them on missions to gather goods, giving them tasks like farming or building. The latter is achieved by blessing, motivating, or intimidating them to win their allegiance, but when there are numerous small followers stumbling around, it can be overwhelming to interact with them one by one.

Along with the gameplay improvements included in Update 1.1.0, Massive Monster has fixed a few potential problems. When Cult of the Lamb first came out, it had a number of significant bugs, some of which prevented players from playing the game at all, especially on Nintendo Switch. A few of the more persistent ones have now also been addressed, and the most egregious of these were dealt with fairly quickly.

Cult of the Lamb received numerous honors at the Australian Game Developer Awards, won the Golden Joystick Award for Best Indie, and received generally favorable reviews despite not winning the title of Best Indie at The Game Awards 2022. The updated developer roadmap indicates that the independent game has a ton more planned.

Cult of the Lamb is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
