The Console Performance Options for Dead Space Remake Have Been Revealed

The Dead Space remake's creator provides a comprehensive list of the PC hardware requirements as well as all the available console performance options.

The upcoming Dead Space remake's developer, Motive Studio, has officially unveiled the PC system requirements as well as the two unique graphics settings that console players will be able to select from. The first installment of the classic horror franchise's remake is no slouch in the graphics department, boasting a completely rebuilt and retooled version of the legendary planet-cracker USG Ishimura.

The game is a marked improvement in terms of visuals over the 2008 original, as demonstrated by the recently released 20 minutes of gameplay footage for Dead Space. The new Dead Space game will feature all the modern bells and whistles that contemporary audiences are accustomed to, with the option to prioritize performance or graphical fidelity. It is built on top of EA's frequently used Frostbite engine.

Many people believe that the atmospheric, gritty graphics from Dead Space from 2008 are still relevant today. Even though it is immediately clear that the new title paid close attention to the visual language and style of the original, the 2023 remake is still very different from it. The original Dead Space was praised for its dynamic shadows, and the remake will include full-fledged raytracing, should the player choose to do so. Depending on their preference, players can select either RT-enabled 4K/30 FPS mode on Xbox Series X or RT-disabled 2K/60 FPS mode on PlayStation 5.

Dead Space, one of the most highly anticipated games of January 2023, will also be very popular on PC, where hardware specifications and graphic settings are crucial. The Radeon RX 6700 XT and the relatively inexpensive Nvidia RTX 2070 are the suggested GPU minimums, according to Motive Studio. The target resolution and frame rate on PC have not been specified, it is important to note, making this information less useful than it might have been.

Expectations for the Dead Space remake in 2023 are, predictably, high. Motive Studio has done a commendable job of staying true to what makes Dead Space special based on the footage that has been made publicly available so far. The game's quality may not be quite as good as it first appears, so fans of the IP will have to wait until the early reviews are in to judge.

In fact, some horror fans might be wary of Dead Space as a result of what many consider to be former DS developer Glen Schofield's subpar performance. In particular, The Callisto Protocol hasn't met its sales goals. Given that the game was promoted as a spiritual successor to Dead Space, it's easy to imagine that many players may wait to see how the remake performs in use before spending money on it.

Dead Space launches on January 27 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
