Capcom has announced a plan to increase Japanese salaries as part of larger human resources improvements, ahead of what has been expected to be the company's 5th straight year of profits record.

Employees' average base salary will increase by 30% when the company's fiscal year begins on April 1, 2022, and a new salary structure will be implemented which is more directly related to the company's business performance, the company announced on Thursday.

In May, the publisher of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter will release its fiscal 2021 results, which are likely to show the ninth year of operating income increase and the fifth year of record profits.

Capcom also stated that its staff performance review and training systems will continue to expand.

On Thursday, the company announced a restructuring of its HR division, as well as a proposal to boost employee compensation.

Capcom announced that it is putting in place a new structure to improve communication between management and staff, which will be led by a chief HR officer, a newly created position at the company.

"Capcom will seek to address the difficulties facing our society while aiming to develop its business value and establish a relationship of trust with employees and stakeholders," it added, citing its concept of being a Creator of Entertainment Culture that Stimulates Your Senses.

Capcom announced the highest net sales and highest levels of all profit items for the end of a third-quarter in the company's history in its results for the nine months ending in December 2021.

Resident Evil Village has sold over 5.7 million units in the current fiscal year, which ends March 31, and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has sold over 1.4 million units.

However, the company's sales during the nine-month period were mainly driven by older Resident Evil and Monster Hunter games, accounting for 70% of total unit sales.

Capcom was recently bought by Saudi Arabia's national wealth fund, which owns a 5% share in the company.
