After almost three years, Fortnite's Plague Doctor skins have returned

Fans of Fortnite will be pleased to learn that the Grim Medicine set has returned to the game's Item Shop after an absence of 1,080 days.

After a far too long absence, the Plague Doctor skins have made a comeback in Fortnite. New skin releases to the Item Shop weren't as frequent in the beginning. But as time passed and the game gained traction and popularity, demand grew, and Epic Games met it. Now that the game has hundreds of crossovers and collaboration skins, there are even open competitions where inventive players can try to create their own skins and see if they can get them added to the game.

Since Fortnite has so many available Item Shop skins, it is harder for them to rotate and reappear as frequently as before. Players sometimes find themselves having to wait months for their preferred skins to return because they simply don't have enough V-Bucks at the right time. Even so, if it were possible to buy any cosmetic item at any time, the excitement of browsing the Item Shop or earning V-Bucks through the Battle Pass simply wouldn't be the same.

It's usually a big deal for the Fortnite community when skins that have been neglected for too long rotate back onto the Item Shop. This past Wednesday saw the return of the Grim Medicine set and the addition of the Plague Doctor skins to the game. For months on end, some fans had been anticipating the return of these eerie Fortnite skins. After a total of 1,080 days of being unavailable, Plague and Scourge are finally available.

Because the Item Shop is updated every day, it is impossible to predict how long these skins will be accessible. Given that they are in the Feature section as opposed to the Daily section, they will probably remain on the Item Shop for a few days. Despite the fact that they hadn't been available for almost three years, these skins weren't as scarce as some of the older Fortnite Battle Pass skins, like Renegade Raider.

The decision by Epic Games to add the Grim Medicine set to the Item Shop at this particular time is unknown, but it undoubtedly cheered up the Fortnite community following the Shockwave Hammer controversy. Perhaps Epic took this action in order to reward its players for putting up with this annoyingly powerful and unbalanced annoyance. Now that this melee weapon is back, let's hope it's been thoroughly fixed and won't need to cause as many disputes in the near future.

Fortnite is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
